If you like to type a sentence or a single word that people can click on to follow your link, rather than just pasting up a dirty, ugly link here is what you need to do. 

 
[ url=http://url goes here ] URL text goes here [/url]

Without the spaces (before and after the brackets) of course, otherwise it won't work.
